This project is divided into three parts. The first, represented by farbrenguen, Hassidic gatherings, poses the broader question of who we allow to influence us.

The notion of bitul, ‘annulment,’ expresses the emptiness we accept within ourselves to be filled with something else. Next comes the individual’s place within society, their influence within a group, and the group’s influence on them. Finally, the candlesticks represent introspection, questioning: who am I in relation to myself, and why? What is expected of me?
